Preparing parcels for British Prisoners of War
St John Ambulance and British Red Cross volunteers packed and sent parcels filled with food, clothing and essential medical supplies to prisoners of war during the Second World War. Doris Zinkeisen recorded these volunteering activities in a series of watercolours sketches for 3-dimensional dioramas that travelled around the country to help fundraise for the Joint War Organisation.
