A set of letters sent between the offices of the Department of Defence in Pretoria, South Africa, the Headquarters of the Commandery in Southern Africa of The Grand Priory in the British Realm of the Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem, and the headquarters of The Grand Priory in Clerkenwell, London. Their contents concern requests from the Commandery for amendments to St John Ambulance Association first aid manuals concerning haemostasis, snake bites, and gas and mining emergencies.
