The first St John Ambulance Association Centre established in India was formed in Bombay (now Mumbai) on 28 November 1883, with other early Centres opening in Bangalore in 1885, and Baroda, Calcutta, Madras, and Quetta in 1901. In 1904, Bombay became the first Centre to introduce the St John Ambulance Brigade to India, with the first Parsi Ambulance Division being registered on 17 June 1904.
