Grand Master with Dignitaries of the Order of St John
Unlike its companion painting, this image is clearly meant to represent actual people involved in the Order of St John in Malta in the late 18th century. The central figure in black is Grand Master Emmanuel de Rohan while the far left figure in blue is the Bishop of Malta, Vincenzo Labini, all showcasing the complex religious and military hierarchy of the Order.
