St John Ambulance Association Re-examination medallion, awarded to Princess Christian of Schleswig-Holstein

Princess Christian was the third daughter and fifth child of Queen Victoria. She was President of several Association Centres, including the Great Western Railway Centre, and translated Professor Esmarch's first aid manual from German to English. Her active support for St John Ambulance demonstrated the Royal Family’s approval of the work of the charity.
