- Black cloth cap with black lace band in St John pattern with metal badge with white enamelled cross and blue background, black enamelled leather chin strap with St John metal buttons on either side, black leather peak with three rows of silver gimp, underside of peak in green leather; inner lining edged with brown leather band, top of underside of hat lined with malleable plastic cover and red cloth underneath; tag with size reading 6 3/4; paper label with owner's name and position written.
