The Lloyd Wharton Shield
This trophy was presented in honour of J. L. Wharton, the Conservative Member of Parliament for Ripon from 1871 to 1874. He was a prominent figure in St John in the North of England, and was appointed a Knight of Grace in 1901, one of the highest grades of the Order of St John.
