St John Ambulance Cadets in Wales successfully attempt to break the world record for providing the kiss of life
Rescue breathing is a relatively new practice which was introduced to the public in the 1950s. Doctors wanted to teach rescue breathing widely but did not know if people would be comfortable performing it on strangers. It was later added to first aid books in the 1970s.
