Members of the Darlington Nursing Division put on a display of St John Ambulance Brigade nursing uniforms through the ages at their local carnival in the summer of 1977, in celebration of the St John Ambulance Association's 100th anniversary. This uniform was worn by Brigade Nursing Sisters in 1895 when working outdoors.
