Sympathy
Sympathy, a Ford Model ‘A’ Ambulance, was purpose-built in 1929 at Ford’s Manchester Works in Old Trafford. Originally commissioned for the Sidmouth Ambulance Division of the St John Ambulance Brigade in Devon, during the Second World War, Sympathy was transferred for service as a rescue vehicle in the City of London and the East End. Many years later, the ambulance was found being used as a chicken coop, and was rescued and restored.
