Grano of Grand Master Jean-Paul Lascaris de Castellar
The Grand Master’s coat of arms would frequently be featured on the obverse of a coin, usually quartered with the recognisable arms – a cross on a plain background - of the Order. On this coin just Lascaris de Castellar’s double-headed eagle features, perhaps because the small area of the coin would have compromised the legibility of quartered arms.
