Denier of Isabella de Villehardouin
On the death of her second husband, Florent of Hainaut, in 1297, Isabella de Villehardouin began minting coins in her own name. This coin is dated to the period between Florent’s passing and Isabella’s third marriage to Philip of Savoy in 1301, from which date the coins were minted in his name. Deniers were also minted by another princess of Achaia, Mahaut.
