Ceiling boss

A ceiling boss is often found at the intersection of crossed or diagonal arched ribs, an architectural feature common in religious spaces like cathedrals and other types of Gothic architecture. They are often intricately carved, and this example looks to show two figures; on the right a Knight, with what is likely his page carrying his sword to the left.
