Westminster Tile pattern W71

This tile features a fleur-de-lis design lying horizontally across the square face of the tile. The fleur-de-lis is a stylised lily flower, and the three-petal design is a common symbol in heraldry. It was first used as a French royal emblem in the 12th century, but it is also often used to represent chivalry, likely why it was found in the Priory Church in Clerkenwell.
