Great Western Railway Long Service Medal, awarded to Samuel Edmonds

This 25-year medal was a special issue approved in 1928. Possession of the 15-year medal carried with it one day’s leave of absence in each year without loss of pay. An additional day was granted for possession of the 25-year medal – providing that, in each case, the holder maintained their first aid efficiency by examination.
