Southern Railway Medal with bar, awarded to William H. Brown

This medal is one of many issued by the former Railway Companies and later by British Railways through the Railway Centres of the St John Ambulance Association. The Southern Railway medal was instituted in 1924 and discontinued on 1st January 1948 when the Big Four (Great Western, London and North Eastern, Midland and Scottish, and Southern) Railways were nationalised.
