Cast of an unidentified seal
This is a cast of an original seal of unknown origin. It is said to be the seal of Hugh Dawnay, Prior of England from 1216 to 1221, but this is unlikely as the seals of this Prior are well known. A small, kneeling figure, perhaps that of a Prior, can be seen below the figure of St John the Baptist.
