The Pilgrimage of 1926
In 1926, to celebrate its new Royal Charter, the Most Venerable Order organised a pilgrimage for members to the historic homes of the Hospitallers, with an emphasis on visiting the Ophthalmic Hospital in Jerusalem. A special investiture was arranged in Malta, and this painting of the event was commissioned by the Order.
