Grand Master Martin de Redin
Martin de Redin was the 58th Grand Master of the Order of St John, between 1657 and 1660. During his short rule, he commissioned the building of thirteen watch towers around the coast of Malta to create a line of communication around the island, mainly to give warning of approaching pirates.
