Leone di Filippo Strozzi

Leone Strozzi was from a Florentine family of bankers. He became a Knight of the Order, a respectable path for the younger sons of wealthy families, in 1530. He went on to distinguish himself through his service on the Galleys of the Order as Captain General 1536 – 1537 and 1552 – 1553.
