Vincenzo Gabrielli
Vincenzo Gabrielli lost his life defending Fort St Elmo when the Ottoman Empire attacked Malta in 1565. The Fort was defended by a small number of Knights for a lot longer than was expected, but when Grand Master Jean de la Valette was asked to relieve their defence, he denied, and all the Knights were killed.
