Correspondence regarding the Incorporation of the St John Ambulance Association Hong Kong Branch

A collection of letters regarding the Ordinance which incorporated the St John Ambulance Association (SJAA) in Hong Kong into law, the appointment of Alfred Morris as Chairman of the SJAA in Hong Kong, and the opening of the SJAA’s Aw Pau Hospital at Cheung Chau Island. Correspondents include Sir William Shenton, Alfred Morris, Rosa Langley, and the Chief Secretary of the Order of St John. Also included is a bilingual invitation to the hospital opening in English and Taiwanese Mandarin, and a press cutting reporting on the opening.

Please note that some photographs from the opening of an SJAA hospital at Cheung Chau Island were originally included with this file. A handwritten note in the file dated 16 February 1998 identifies that an employee of the Museum removed these photographs on that date and catalogued them separately. It is not known how many photographs were removed and what references they were catalogued under.
