Letters between Miss Norah Hill, General Secretary of the Indian Branch of the St John Ambulance Association (SJAA), the Chief Secretary of the SJAA, and Dr A. Hamid, later General Secretary of the SJAA Indian Branch, regarding the potential need for an SJAA first aid manual specifically created for the gold mines. Also included is an article about a ‘Rock burst’ at the Kolar Gold Field in October 1937, written by Miss Hill, and a small photograph of the Champion Reef Mine shaft at Kolar after the rock burst.
