Accounts, Stores and Secretarial Copy Letter Books (Consecutive)

Copy letter books containing outgoing letters from St John Ambulance Association Accountant, Store Keeper/Director of Stores and Secretary William R. Edwards (1894-1918) and Assistant Secretary Duncan Monteith (1912-1918). There are also some letters from Chief Secretary Herbert Perrott (1894-1915). The letters are largely administrative and relate to the general activities of the St John Ambulance Association including examinations, the issue of certificates and medallions; Stores price lists and equipment orders including stretchers, uniform, handbooks, first aid hampers and carriages; lectures, examinations, classes, membership, the specification of ambulance carriages, railway competitions, the registration of centres, accounts, regulations, the Central Executive Committee and Association personnel.

Please note the letter books are indexed to indicate the recipients of the letters. The correspondents vary and relate to individuals covering all areas of the United Kingdom as well as some letters being sent internationally.

Please note the volumes include letters created using multiple methods of copying. Due to this some letters are faded and not legible.
